How much does hot tub maintenance cost per month in Pinellas County?
Hot tub maintenance from Kind Hot Tub Care is $149 a month for a visit every two weeks, or $229 a month for weekly visits, chemicals included. Kind Complete, which adds pillows, filters, cover care, the warranty logbook and repair concierge, is $299 a month biweekly or $379 a month weekly. A one-time cleaning is $150, a drain and refill is $175, vacation rental turnovers start at $65, and the first in-home water analysis is free. The monthly price is flat: a month with three visits costs the same as a month with two. A $120 pool-route package usually leaves out the chemicals, the quarterly drain, the filter cleaning and the written report; here they are in the price.
What is in the price
Before you compare two quotes, ask what each number includes. Ours:
- Chemicals: included, on every plan and every one-time visit.
- Filter: cleaned at every visit on every plan. Replacement filters are included in Kind Complete.
- Cover: wiped and checked every visit; conditioned on a schedule in Kind Complete.
- Travel: no trip charge anywhere in Pinellas County.

- The report: readings before and after, what went in and how much, and your next drain date, texted before we leave the driveway.
Water care: $149 a month biweekly, $229 weekly
Every visit:
- The water is tested with a liquid test kit, then balanced: sanitizer, pH, total alkalinity and calcium hardness brought to the ranges in your hot tub's manual.
- The filter is cleaned, the waterline wiped, the cover wiped and checked.
- The equipment is checked: cabinet door opened, pump and heater looked at for drips, GFCI tested.
- Readings and photos are texted when we leave: what the water tested at before and after, what went in, and your next drain date. That report is the record of your tub.
- A drain and refill every quarter, included.
The chemistry follows your manufacturer's manual: cover open and jets running for at least twenty minutes after dosing, hot tub products only. Never pool tablets, floaters or pool shock.
Kind Complete: $299 a month biweekly, $379 weekly
Everything in water care, plus:
- Pillows and filters replaced on schedule, included in the price.
- Cover kept new: conditioned on a schedule, and we tell you when it is time to replace it.
- Warranty registered for you, and a one-page logbook once a year: readings, drains, parts, photos, warranty status.
- Storm protocol: when a named storm is forecast, we secure the cover and straps, advise on power, and come back after to sanitize and reset.
- Vacation mode: the tub held at a low temperature while you are away, brought back up the night before you are home, and a text that says it is ready.
- Guest-ready visits: a party on Friday means a visit Thursday and a visit Saturday, inside the plan.
- Repair concierge: when something breaks, we call a licensed technician, meet them at your tub, verify the fix and update the log. The technician's bill and the parts are separate.
One visit
- Complimentary in-home water analysis, free: twenty minutes at your tub, a written readings card, nothing added to the water. Every customer starts here.
- One-time cleaning and balancing, $150: a neglected or cloudy tub back to clear, safe water in one visit. Credited toward your first month if you start a plan within seven days.
- Drain and refill, $175: line flush, drain, shell wipe, filter clean, refill through a pre-filter, then balanced and sanitized. The old water goes out a hose to the far edge of your yard, about 400 gallons once a quarter. Included in every plan.
- Vacation rental turnover, from $65: between guests, tested, balanced, sanitized and wiped down, with a time-stamped photo report before check-in. Details on the vacation rental page.
What is not included
Repairs and electrical work. Kind Hot Tub Care does not replace pumps, heaters or control boards and does not do electrical work. On Kind Complete we arrange a licensed technician and verify the repair; the technician's bill and the parts are yours. We do not sell hot tubs.
Why it costs more than the pool guy
A hot tub holds about 400 gallons at 102 degrees. Two people in it are the bather load of seventy-five in a pool, in water eighteen degrees hotter, so the water needs testing and dosing every visit, not a monthly pass with pool products.
